I'm so glad you're here. I've never had a blog or written any blog posts before, so please bear with me as I work out the kinks!

A little bit about me: I'm a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and I will be starting graduate school there this fall (2025) in pursuit of my Master's in Social Work, to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). What I truly want to do is find a way to integrate mental health therapeutic interventions (Im thinking Cognitive Behavioral Therapy- CBT- or even your typical child play therapy) for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I could go on and on about how neglected mental health is for those with disabilities - and I will throughout my posts- but my main goal is to bring awareness to this issue, give my ideas and solutions on sustainable and affordable ways to help these issues, and further become a licensed therapist that specializes in providing these types of mental health services for this population.

But wait, there is more! if you are reading this and thinking, "I don't have a disability" or "I don't really know anyone with a disability that would benefit from these types of conversations," don't leave just yet. Everything that I discuss in this blog is tailored to help those with disabilities, but that does not mean it can not help someone without disabilities- it may even give you a new perspective on mental health and wellbeing completely!

So, please stick around for all things mental health, disabilities, and overall finding your inner peace.
